Here's to my favorite bar in New Orleans! P.S. I cannot wait to come back here the next time I am in the French Quarter. It is a great way to relax and spend a couple of hours in casual and genuine conversation. I highly recommend settling into the best Bloody Mary's in town with spicy pickled green beans. Open 24 hours a day, drinks are affordable and delicious and canine friends are welcome. If the saying goes it's the people that make the place, then in my opinion there isn't a better place in New Orleans and the place is pretty great as well. Like a family, they all seem to watch out for one another, the bar, and its visitors. The patrons, mostly local, are jovial and down to earth. Stepping into it is like stepping into southern hospitality at its best. Of course, New Orleans, NOLA for short, keeps the fun going all year round and draws in growing numbers of tourists every year. From the outside you might miss it, a pride flag waiving proudly in the New Orleans sun, plants dripping from their daily hydration and a couple of windows are all that mark this hidden treasure of LGBTQ camaraderie nestled just off the the bustle of Bourbon street. It's hard to describe the charm of the Golden Lantern.
